Okinawan Karate
Old School (Koryu) Karate

True to the meaning of a Martial Art (Military Art) its design
was for self protection in a time that was brutal and life was
the only prize one competed for (the right to live). The perfection of these arts was created by professional body guards of the Ryukyu Kingdom Royal Court and Nobles, know as the Uhugushuku no Bushi (Gentlemen Warriors of the Castle Guardians). The use of defensive weapons and empty hand techniques served these warriors well against Japanese Samurai and criminals and bandits terrorizing the Castle Villages which they were charged with overseeing. The concepts, principles, techniques, and kata are what has been preserved for over 700 years. The intent to use these techniques in the protection of oneself of family remains the central focus of the Matsusoden Kobukan Karate and Kobujutsu. If this is your interest then look no further, the Matsusoden Kobukan is just the place you have been searching for.
